Room 20 got given a task that I thought was very unusual, I only thought it was unusual because it was the first fun activity in 3 whole terms. Each student got a Rubric. This Rubric included every SMART from the MI QUIZ on the top, the type of activity on the left side and the actual activity, listed beside and under all of them. You could do your own smart, but I thought it would be better to do a smart I am not use to. I did Verbal/Linguistic smart, the remembering type of activity and my actual activity was to, Name the Planets in our Solar System in correct order and list 3 facts about each of them. I had a GREAT experience searching and finding out about each planet, this is what I came up with in the end. :)

NETBOOKS GALORE

This year I have really LOVED having a Netbook to work on because,

Now that we have netbooks to work with, it’s become much easier to write and publish posts on your blog. Other things that make this device much more simpler to use, is that, we can communicate and share our work much more faster than before. The best thing is, we can find more information and research quicker than ever.

Although work is much easier, it sometimes gets irritating when your netbooks starts to play up. Most times we have to restart the netbook because the screen is frozen. Our problem, has to do with the internet. Usually, the internet is down, so we are not able to do our work given.

For us, it is a HUGE difference between learning with a netbook and learning using pen and paper. For example, we have found it easy to share a doc instead of taking too much time and conferencing with a teacher, it’s simple. Toreka and I are glad, that we have a one in a lifetime chance to have a netbook for our very own use.

We have enjoyed using the netbook, the hardest thing for the both of us was, getting to know the netbook and all the little details we needed to learn. To be honest, the challenge for us was keeping ourselves away from the bad and dogey things like, games, twitter, youtube and much more, but we managed. We have got to admit, most of the time, this was an experience for us for 4 long and great terms.

If the Netbook scheme failed and our netbooks got taken away from us, we would probably be devistated and find our work much harder. Pen and Paper is not that bad, but after 1 day without a netbook, we think it would be difficult, without our little device here, speeding through our work.

Physical Sports

Out of all physical sports, what is the one sport that comes to your head? I can think of a variety of sports, but after listening to Mrs Nua going on about Tennis, and the fact that we were going to be doing some skills and to learn how to actually play, was not the sport I had in mind. Tennis was the last thing to come to my mind, I mean, What’s the worst that could happen? ...

BANG ! SMACK ! HIT ! There were balls flying everywhere once we set foot on that court. Our trainer introduced himself, and said he will be teaching us Tennis skills and playing a game of Tennis, every Thursday, for the next 4 weeks. That moment, my jaw dropped open and I said to myself, “If I can’t handle one day, how can I handle 4 weeks of this madness?” My day just got better by the moment.

“Get a partner and find a space on the court, and wait for my instructions”, He said loudly. I quickly called Selena (my friend) my way to practice with me. He said, “One of you, go to one side of the net and put your ball down”, Selena went and was ready to hit. “The other one, put your racquet down, and get your ball”. I knew it was going to be fine with Selena. We didn’t do well at first, but getting to the end, we got the hang of it.

“Quickly count yourselves into a team of 6 and I will come around and show you people a demo”. I was quite excited at this point, we were challenging each person in our team to see who is King of the court. I was up and I looked fine on the inside, but really, I was shaking in the inside. BANG ! My first challenger I beat, but the 2nd I unfortunetly lost against. I wasn’t the exact winner, but at least I had fun.

I think I judged this sport by it’s name thatn by what it was like. I think I should of waited before I said anything or did anything. I will be looking forward to the next lesson, and hopefully, I will be King of the Court.

An experience of the word COMET

As you can see, in the last 7 days I started off with, 0.00 and have now gone up to, 11.52, which I think is a great from the last. My usage as you can see, started from 0 minutes of usage, but now, I am now using a total of 205 minutes. My performance looks as if it has been improved for the last 7 days. The flag of France

As you can see, the flag I have drawn up above is France, who will be playing in the Rugby World Cup 2011. The task was to find the meaning of the colors on this flag. It was pretty difficult to search for the meaning of the colors, but it turned out that this is what they meant: The Blue stands for: The power of influence that France has had over other countries. The White stands for: Peace and Purity. The Red stands for: A symbol of Bloodshed that must be lost in honour of the country.

This term has been GREAT! My highlight for this term would have to be learning great new things with Mrs Nua in maths, reading and writing. Another personal achievement was doing some great art with Ms Muliaumasealii on Wednesdays.

OH NO!! VACCINATION

I might have looked alright on the outside but on the inside it was a different feeling. My heart couldn't stop racing when I got told that we were having our vaccinations today. I was saying over and over again in my head “You can do this”.

I slowly peeked into the hall and then slowly walked inside to see what was happening. Two girls in front of me started walking in to have their turn. The first girl went in, the second girl went in, and then finally my turn had come.

I walked in with my hands shaking and my heart beating fast. A lady put her hand up and waved it at me to go to her. I walked hurriedly to the lady to get the needle in my arm over and done with.

I tried not to look scared at that same time she pulled out some of the swabs. She pulled out the needle and boy did it make me shiver and shake with some fear. She got the needle ready. I tried to distract myself by playing with my fingers. Then.....

Before you knew it, the vaccination was all over. It felt like the needle had pinched my arm. It left a little blood on my arm but it wasn't the end of the world yet. They softly put a swab on my arm and then stuck some sellotape on it to make it stick.

We soon had to take it off and chuck it in the bin. Before I could say ‘OUCH!’ I was walking back to class without any tears and without me shaking and shivering. Well that was another day of a needle through my arm.

Geometry Translations

In Room20 we have been learning about a learning area in maths: Geometry. In Geometry we have been learning about Translations. No not the language translations but the Geometry kind. Geometry translations means: Moving shapes without making it bigger, smaller or anything else, just moving. The main point of this photo was to:
1. Find a grid and add it to a new google docs drawing.
2. I had to add a shape, well in my case my shape was a square.
3. I copied the square and moved the square 2 down and 2 across.
4. I took a photo and I uploaded it on my blog so you can all see.
That was all we learnt today. I really look forward to learning more about Geometry in the future!

Honesty and Hope movie

Last week we were assigned to do a project on one of the school values. I ended up teaming with Toreka and Thora. We couldn't decide whether to do honesty or hope so we just did both of them. We ended up finishing it off properly with our MTV also with a song by R Kelly called 'I'm the world's greatest'. We just hope that it is a project that you like and you will enjoy and you will also learn more about Honesty and Hope.

I would like to say a huge thank you, to you for the scrumptious hangi. I would also like to say thank you for helping out with organising the activities and taking care of the students. This camp is one of the best camps ever beacause you made the hangi and prepared it for us.... You have put a whole lot of effort into this camp just to make the yr 7 and 8 students happy. We would have never made this camp without you with us all the way. You a one big help to this school.

How to Pitch a tent.....

Equipment
Pegs
Hammer
Poles
Fly (Outer tent)
Base
Interior
Inner tent

INSTRUCTIONS (Be aware that this may not be suitable for some types of tents)

During this process, make sure that you put spare pegs and poles in to the bag it came in.

1. First of all, you will need to unfold the base of the tent and lay it down. Ensure that the opening of the tent is facing the right way. Get a peg and place it through the eyelit. Hammer it in to the ground at a 45 degree angle AND so it is a bit hard to pull out. Repeat on every corner.

2. Once you have finished hammering the pegs, you will have to get the poles out and clip the black hooks on to the poles. One pole, through the inner tent. Once they reach the other side of the tent have a friend pull it out and put it in the second smaller eyelet. Repeat this process for the second pole.

3. Thirdly, you will need the fly (outer tent). Place it carefully on top of the inner tent. Make sure that the fly’s entrance matches the inner tents door.

4. You will find that there are little ropes attached to the fly. These are called Guy Ropes. You will need more pegs for this. Hammer them down as you did the same with the four corners. But you don’t need to secure it as tightly.

5. Once you have finished that, you may admire you’re perfectly pitched tent.

An amazing Camp highlight.....

The highlight of Camp TC for me was ROCK UP, but the one that surprised me most was the one and only: DUNKER. The aim of the game was to see how long you can stay on top and not get dunked in the water. Unfortunately, I got dunked into the water with one throw, with a surprising fall into the cold water. The most valuable lesson I learnt at ROCK UP, was knowing how to work with a team and Co-Operating altogether. Camp was also about learning our heading for Camp this year and it was to TAKE CHARGE.

TECH AT TAMAKI!!

I said to myself “I can’t wait to start tech”. Walking into Tamaki College was like entering a whole new enviroment. It was like I was in wonderland.

As the children were chattering we got there we got told to line up in our Tech lines to wait for our teachers to come and take us. As I was chattering excitedly to my friend next to me, we got told to start making our way to science class with Mr Duan. I was so EXCITED!!

Making our way to the science room, I was walking hurriedly eager to step inside the science room for the very first time. We got to sit anywhere we wanted to, but there had to be at least 5 or more people at your science table. At my table was Ala, Jarna, Matthew, Aidan and of course me.

Once we were seated in our seats, nice and comfortable, without wasting any time we got started straight away. I was ready to start doing experiments and start mixing chemicals and liquids when he said, “Today we are just going to start with the simple things” and that’s when I froze completely for a whole minute saying in my head “WHAT DID HE SAY?”

My brain was so caught in the moment about learning about plants and living creatures that I totally forgot about wanting to learn about experiments and chemicals. Mr Duan finally asked me a question about living creatures. He asked me “Sylvia, Is a tree a living thing?”. I looked at him with a weird look and then the answer popped into my head. I said “YES!’’ and it was correct.

We did other things like looking at pictures of venous flytraps and and knowing what they like to do and eat. I was learning a new skill every time he told us about a new living creature or mammal or even plants. It was very impressing to know that my Science class had known a lot of new things in 2 hours tops.

Once we heard the Tamaki bell go we had to leave the Science room with sadness. We got taken out of the Science room with our Science teacher, Mr Duan. We lined up outside near the Tamaki College gates right near the front. Mrs Nua said in a loud voice to start walking back to school.

So it sadly came to an end. I had learnt a great experience with Mr Duan and hoping to do it again so I was quite happy. I was hoping that tech could have been a lot longer, but the main thing was I learnt something.

Statistics

If you don't know what this weird looking thing is, then it is called a Pie Chart. This is how I found out what people's favorite animal was. Look at this and you'll find out.

First I had to go on Google docs and find out how to make a form and graph. Then I used a tally chart to see how many people liked a Cheetah, Tiger, Jaguar, Shark, Zebra and a Pussy cat which was extra.

As you can see below, the most popular animal was obviously a Cheetah with 44% and then followed by a Jaguar with 24%. I would have thought a Tiger had been the best because of it's speed and you know it's teeth and strong parts.

So now that you know what a pie Chart is, you can learn how to make one and know how to use one. Now in your own spare time or maths time you can make a Pie Chart, that's only if you want to.

SPLASHING FUN WATER!!!

Going to Swimarama for me was AWESOME!! My day started off feeling like I was abandoned, and then it felt like I was a PRINCESS. It was just a perfect sunny day to be at the pools.

As I entered the pools it was like water land, it was just a AMAZINGLY COOL!! There were Diving boards, a hydroslide, An Indoor pool and a normal pool for everyone to have fun. The first time I had stepped into the pool I felt like I was in a fridge with nothing in it but ice. I stayed in there for a little while and got a little warmer.

I couldn’t stop fiddling with my fingers because I had to wait for the Diving pool and Hydroslide to open. Once they were open I said to myself “ Thank Goodness! The slide and Diving pool is open!” I said in a loud voice to my brother while running “ LET’S HAVE SOME FUUUNNN!!”

I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go on the hydroslide or the diving board first it was so hard to decide. So I closed my eyes and imagined which one would be more fun. I opened my eyes and started to make my way to the Diving board.

I got there and I started to climb the ladder to get to the top. I got up and I looked down, I was trying to figure out if I should jump down or I should go back down. I looked down on the diving board saying to myself “ You can do this Sylvia, you can do this”. I closed my eyes and jumped down saying “ WOOHOO!!! “ I felt great once I had done it but the waters went right through my ears so I might go and have a turn on the hydroslide.

I entered the chamber of the hydroslide and I had to walk up the steps steadily and carefully. When I got to the top of the slide there was a green light and a red light. The person in front of me went when the green light went on. The green light came on and I sat on the slide and slid down yelling out “ YAHOO!!”

I had had enough time with the hydroslide and diving pool so I went and played pool tiggy with my brother in the big pool. An hour later me and my brother got called by my uncle because we had to go home. We went to our uncle and both thanked him for taking us to Swimarama and he replied back“ It’s alright!”

Well I thought that would of been my best day in the holidays because it was me and my brothers day to have fun outdoors. I’m wishing we can go there again next holidays. It was the best day ever!!!

EARTHQUAKE MANIA!!

I was really sad to find that Christchurch has yet been hit by another terrifying Earthquake. Debris has been spread in all kinds of places, and people are helping one an another beneath the falling rubble. It was also sad that people have lost their loved ones through this devastating earthquake.

NETBOOKS HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED!!

It was finally time for Room20 to get their Net books. I was looking around the room and I saw the class suddenly filling with excitement and happiness. I opened the box and took off the write coating and there it was, my one and only Net book. We weren't allowed to touch the net book but I could'nt help not touching it. I swept my hand on top of the net book and let go.

Mrs Burt finally said, we can open it up and that’s when my heart started to beat really really fast. I opened it and I could'nt believe my eyes. There was a mini web camera, a mouse and tiny little keys. I thought it was the best net book ever. The best thing about it was that we could explore our net books straight away.

I would also like to say a very BIG Thank You to Mr and Mrs Burt for providing us with these precious net books.

COOL KIWIS

Some birds can fly high up in the air-kiwis can’t. Most birds are beautifully bright coloured-but Kiwi’s aren’t. There’s even a bird that can swim in the icy cold water down in Antartica-Kiwi’s wouldn’t even do that.

It’s not that they’re all big or they’re really small. The littlest kiwi is called the Little Spotted Kiwi. Only 1350 are in on Kapati Island. This species is smaller than a normal rugby ball.

The average size is only about the size of a normal size rugby ball. But these Kiwis can be really big. The Great Spotted Kiwi is the biggest kiwi of all and its 45 centimeters and there are over 22,000 Great White Kiwis in the whole of New Zealand.

I suppose you wouldn’t call them beautiful or dazzling. Their color is very dull and plain brown, and they’ve even got rough skin, while lots of them have the most ridiculous 20cm bill that sticks out in the front of their body. Imagine giving them a Hongi!

Most people think that Kiwi’s have no wings. They do! If you look underneath their brown plain plumage you will find their wings.Their wings are the size of your PINKY! Can you believe it?

Kiwis have a nice sense of smell. They can also put the tip of their beck which is there nose, three centimeters down in to the ground and smell worms and insects. they then grab their prey from underground, and eat it.

How could you possibly resist a, big fat,nocturnal,plain, plumaged, ugly looking, flightless bird?

If Kiwi’s aren’t cool, Then I don’t know what is?

CROSS COUNTRY!!!!!!!

Arriving at school, I see all the gear, and I say to myself ''What an Ambush!'' Mr Burt has tricked us and has decided to put on a Cross Country for the whole school. I murmur to class and say ''It was only suppose to be our team'' That's what Ms Garden said.

Before the race was about to start, I had butterflies in my tummy. I was hoping it was about to rain any minute because I felt scared and didn't want to do cross country.

Suddenly a sound went BANG! the 10 year old girls dashed past me as I jog behind everyone keeping my pace. I start to past one person at a time.

Passing the gate, my body was aching and my knees were burning, but I knew I had to keep on going. Half way there, a feeling of lethargy passed through me, as I am near the finish line. I say to myself ''CHAMPIONS NEVER GIVE UP!''

Coming out of the gate, and going across the playground, Seini Mino jogs up to me and we are close to the finish line. We gather momentum against each other and we come a tie. We are coming and we hear the crowd cheering us on. It felt great.

As we walk down from the field I felt exhausted and puffed out. I also felt proud that I had done it, and finished the race.

Term 3's facsinating Immersion Assembly!!!

On Tuesday the 19th of July it was the first day of Term 3 for Pt England school. When I walked inside the hall I was surprised because I thought I was trapped on an Island filled with Pirates. When I sat down I was so keen to find out about Term 3's topic and then suddenly the screen turned on and it had the words 'MIGHTY MARINERS'!

Hockey.

My new sport is Hockey.

It is a very cool sport to play and for anyone who is in to sport.

My first Hockey game is in 2 weeks. The best thing about it is that we all get our gear 1 week before the game so we can practise and get use to it. We only have practise once a week which is going to be quite hard for the team.

Did you know part of your gear, you get a brand new Hockey stick as well? I got a silver one which is really cool but everyone gets different colours. I think my Hockey stick is the best out of all.

I am so excited about my first game ever because I have never played a cool sport like Hockey before. This is exciting because it is a rough and challenging game. I think this is going to be such fun for the team and I.

I can't wait until my first game and I hope we win.

My long trip to Napier!

On Friday the 4th of June I had to miss school because I was going to Napier. I was going to Napier with some of my church and youth and also my Nana. We went for long weekend. The reason why we were going to Napier was because we got invited to do a youth rally there. We went by bus and it took us 8 hours to get there so we got there at about 2pm.

Finally we got there and we got shown where we were going to sleep. We slept in a Marae and when we got in there we saw that half of the Marae had got taken up. I had to get me and my Nana's beds ready for tonight. As soon as we finished getting our beds set we rested and the we found out that we had an opening church at 6pm. All of us ran to have a shower and got ready. Suddenly we received a black bag with a badge saying Keep Moving Forward. It was time for the opening and we all went to the opening and that went on for 3 and a half hours.

Church was finished and we all had to eat our dinner in the kitchen and the foam plates had barbecue in it and it was scrumptious. It was time to go to sleep and tomorrow was another long day!!!

Tamaki College.

On Friday Mr Borland from Tamaki College kindly invited Room17 to the Tamaki College gym where we did P.E.

The first game we played was called ''Waka''. There were 4 wakas and what we had to do was get all 4 wakas from one side to the other. Our strategy was to walk on the wakas and there always had to be one waka. We had to keep on passing the wakas along. The tricky part was that we weren't allowed to fall or the whole class will have to start again. It was the best day ever.

Active Earth.

This term's topic is Active earth. We are learning about Volcanoes,Earthquakes and Tsunamis.

I have already learnt that inside a volcano is not lava it is magma and inside a volcano is a magma chamber and the magma chamber holds up all of the magma inside. When the volcano is about to erupt the magma shoots up very fast and then the volcano explode. The magma is then called lava, which is very hot.

What I'm really looking forward to this term is getting to know lots more of information about Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Tsunamis.

At the start line all the competitive children were eagerly awaiting for the race to start. My heart was pounding with nervous excitement. I was jittery and jumpy.

BANG! Mr Burt's clappers went and all the children ran with a burst of speed. As I was powering ahead with my friend I jostling for position. " Ouch " I said " Did someone poke me".

Exhausted with aching muscles my lungs were screaming. I asked myself if I was able to continue. I was lagging behind my muscles were straining with burning lungs.

While I was running I could feel the mud squelching on my feet. As soon as I caught up to my friend Athena I yelled out " Can you wait for me please " and she stopped. We started to walk and we talked and took our time.

Hello my name is Sylvia and I'd just like to talk about another friend which is more like all my other friends Angela. Angela is a humorous and lovely friend. We fight a lot but the next day it is better and we start playing around and having fun. The best thing I like about her is when she See's me and I am lonely she will ask if I want to play with her and her other friends. We both met in room11 and then we went to room12 and 13 and we came to room15 and that's how we became best friends. Angela is a girl that anyone would want to be friends with because tells real funny jokes. Well that's all the time I got for now so bye!!!

I have probably have already said my name lots of times but anyway I'd just like to talk about my friend Mubasshira. Mubasshira is a smart and kind girl to me and a lot of other people. We always help each other with our work and when we a hurt. What I like about Mubasshira is that she uses her manners and the other thing I really like about her is that she always tries her best. Hello my name is Sylvia and I'd like to just talk about my best friend Jarna. Well it all started in kindergarten when me and Jarna met we always use to play with each other. I always use to kind of play rough on her.Everytime when we had to go eat and play I sometimes use to take her lunch. Jarna was a smart girl in kindergarten she knew good and bad things so I wasn't that good in kindergarten. Then we both turned 5 years old and we went to the same school Pt England priamy school. We were both in the same class on our first day of school. Belive me I we still fought in there so the teacher caught us and Jarna had to go to room 2 and we never fought again. After we kept on changing classes. But right now she is in my class again room 15 and year 5. She is a really smart and funny girl that is really good at the sport soccer she would always ask me to practise with her. Jarna is a really good friend to ask to play with because she is a fair and funny girl. Jarna is my best friend in the whole wide world and I think I would never forget she was my best friend in the world.

Immersion Assembly

As I walked into the assembly hall it was like I had stepped into a fairytale book. I saw all the teachers dressed up in fairytale costumes, I was getting confused. The person I was most shocked at was Mrs Nua she was dressed as a sympathetic fairy godmother with a wand as well. Suddenly Mr Burt came walking in and yelled out"Has anyone seen my beautiful princess"? All the kids replied back"NO". He was holding a glass cup pretending it was the glass slipper and was dressed in a green and white funny costume with white and black shoes. He told all the teachers to come on the stage.
The teacher I loved the best was Ms Vaafusuaga she was dressed as Puss in boots . She had boots, hat and was dressed in black. She looked cool. It was amazing she even spoke the kind of language that Puss in boots spoke.

My next favourite teacher was Mrs Nua she was really pretty, she had a fabulous and beautiful dress and her hair actually matched her clothes. She had a wand and she looked magical and mysterious.

It was an awesome immersion assembly, one I would never forget. I feel very happy about this terms topic 'The Art in Storytelling'. It is really cool that we are learning about fairy tales more and more. It is really cool our topic this term. I love it.

My information about the Megalosaurus

The Megalosaurus was a lizard hipped dinosaur also a saurischian and it name means great lizard. It lived about 170 million years ago,at a time when the earth was mild. The world's plants were large and plentiful,as in a rain forest today. There were forest trees such as conifers,cycads and ginkoes,ferns and horse-tails grew on the ground. This scene would have been home to Megalosaurus.

A Megalosaurus was a large meat-eating predator. It's jaws were packed with sharp,serrated teeth which curved backwards into it's mouth. They were ideal for cutting through meat.

We know that it lived about 170 million years ago,at a time when the earth's weather was mild. The world's plants were large and plentiful,as in a rain forest today. There were forest trees such as conifers cycads and ginkgoes ,and ferns and horse-tails grew on the ground. This scene would have been home to Megalosaurus.

Some people belive that the dinosaurs died because a metephore hit earth. Others said that a volcano erupted and all the dinosaurs got wiped out.

Allosaurus and Megalosaurus fighting and biting.

Under hiding so his enemy does not see him.

Running to catch it's prey.

Under already dead dinosaurs.

Immersion Assembly.

On Monday Pt England school had an Immersion Assembly. We were talking about Dino-Might the new thing the school was learning about this term in the hall.

All the teachers had to do an Item about dinosaurs. The first teachers that went up were Mrs.Lal,Mrs.Wild,Mrs.George and Mrs.Katu.Theyn were making a film for team 1. They did a video about them in the jungle smiling behind bushes. When they were finished they held up cardboard's that said''We Are Not Extinct (Yet)''.

Team 2 was next. The teachers were awesome It was Miss Va'afusuaga,Mrs Glaze and Mrs She. They did a rap about dinosaurs and they did a dance about the rap too. They were really great.

Team 3 did an item about searching for fossils. They were pretending to be paleontologists. They were using shovels ,magnifying glasses,computers and back -packs. They found really big bones and it was really interesting.

Team 4 was next. It was Mrs Nua,Ms King,Ms Squires and Mr Palmer. They did a film about them reading in the library. They all had an awful dream about them being in a jungle with all the dinosaurs chasing them. It was a really cool and interesting movie to watch.

The E-learning team were Mrs Burt and Mrs Tele'a. They were cool too they did a film about them taking a computer and Mrs Tele'a was Mrs Burt's tree. Both of them were awesome. [They were cool].

When all the films were finished I couldn't really feel my legs and I was yawning to much. Learning about dinosaurs is really cool I think nexty year I am still going to think about dinosaurs and I think it was a good idea to learn about dinosaurs.

Camp Aratika.

Last last week on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday year 5 and 6 had a camp called Camp Aratika. We camped in our tents out on the school field. We had groups and they were called the True Crew,the Honest Crew,the Care Crew, the Responsibles,the Thinkers and the Participators. I was in the True Crew.

My favourite activity at camp was Rock climbing at Panmure. There was a King Kong one and I made it up to the top. I had a really good time at Rock climbing because if I want to come down we just let go and the rope it just pulls itself. There was an Indiana Jones one that I climbed 4 times and all the other ones just twice. That was my most favourite day ever. Then we had to get all our stuff and return to school and have dinner and go to sleep.

Reaching for the next hold like I am climbing a big rocky mountain.
Obeying the rock climbing rules for safety and for no danger.
Clutching onto the walls like a monkey swinging from branch to branch to get some bananas.
Keeping it real by helping people putting there belts on.
Climbing the King Kong tower trying to beat King Kong’s record.
Locked my fingers in the holds trying not to fall because I want to beat Indiana Jones tower.
I was climbing the walls but my hands were slippery and I nearly fell down.

cooperative challenge.

Last week on Tuesday at 9:30 room 15 went to the hall and played a game. Ms Squires gave out newspaper and we got three each. We had to stand on the newspaper and jump and make it from the beginning of the hall to the end.

We had to get into groups of four and in my team was Troy, Seini-Mino, Marven, Dillion and me. We had to get on a newspaper with a partner from your own team. My partner was Seini-Mino. Every single team weren't allowed to touch the ground or we would have to start at the beginning.

When I heard we had decided to slide on the newspapers I got all nervous. But when I did it, it was kind of easy. Everybody was concentrating and some people were moaning. My team was yelling and we planned to keep on passing it on and jumping. All the teams were great.

Ms Squires was taking photos of us playing the game. My team was falling over everywhere. We were pushing each-other to make them hurry-up.

We started to rip the newspaper because we weren't carefull enough. Marven and Dillion were fast. Seini-mino and I were as fast as cheetahs.

Troy didn't want to play so we got Jonathan from the other team. We only had four people because our team was being naughty. My team nearly won but Ala's team won. Lepa's team came second and my team came third. Toreka's team came last. When my team came third I was like yay we came third and then we got our shoes and we went back to class. When we got to class I sat on the mat and I felt really really happy.

Last week on Thursday we did a game in the hall after morning tea. We had to wait and sit on the floor to wait for Lepa and Matthew to get all the balls and hockey sticks and all the cones. Ms Squires had to set the cones out. After that we had to get one piece of paper and one pencil each. We got three turns each and had to get into partners. My partner was Jane. She was the first one to go up and dribble the ball around the cones. But the last cones were very difficult because they were very close to each-other. While Jane and the other kids were dribbling the ball, we were timing them to see how long they took. Her first time was 1:39. After her turn it was my turn. I went around all the cones but I got up to the difficult part but I went slow. My first time was 1:09. Then Jane and I lined up again to play again. Her second time was 49 seconds and my second time was 39 seconds. Her last time was higher than her second time. It was 1:08. My last time It was 28 seconds and she said"I was fast"and I said thank-you.

Rainbows End

On Friday in the holidays I went to Rainbows End. I went with my twin cousins Dawn and Dawn. I went on the Fearfall and I felt like I was going to puke. Despite that it was so much fun that I went on it two times.
After that I went on the dogems. I crashed into this girl driving so I said, ''Sorry.'' Then she said 'It's fine''.
When It was finished I got out and ran to my mum and we went on the roller coaster. The roller coaster was so cool and fun that I went on it three times. The roller coaster was like I was going to fall upside down.
Next my mum said, ''Do you want to go on the pirate ship?" I said, ''Okay''. It was so cool it felt like I was going to fall down the boat when it went to the bottom. My cousin was going to puke on the pirate ship and I thought it was going to break because there were lots of people on it. After that we all went home and on the way there we got ice cream. We went to the beach to eat our ice creams. When we finished we had are little swim.
